Note to all: on Friday 10 May the field will be closed all day for maintenance with grass cutting starting at 8:30 am and rolling going well into the late afternoon.
As you can imagine, this week has been hectic so far. However, planning for the spring clean-up is still underway.
CHANGE OF DATE: because of the rain forecast for Saturday and not so great forecast for next week, we are advancing the cleanup date to Friday.
We need to know who can make it on Friday. Please respond to this email if you can come out on Friday instead of Saturday. 10-12 people would be ideal. No need for tools. We will supply all painting and scraping supplies, just wear old clothes and bring gloves if you like. Bug spray would be a good idea too.
The work will consist mainly of the following:
- Replace a couple of fence posts and boards
- Scrape loose paint; repaint curbs and touch-up other surfaces.
- Swap winter and summer shelters
- Roll runway and pit areas.
Roller drivers: the roller will be delivered around 10 am Friday. We would like to roll the runways twice and the pits once (if they are not too wet).
So far we have:
- 10 am -to 12 pm: Daniel Marcotte
- (3 hour shift TBD): Claude Dostaler.
We would need one or two additional drivers in the afternoon or early evening.
Member Mark Fletcher has been out with his earth-moving equipment yesterday and performed all leveling, hole filling and more in the driveway and parking lot. This is very generous of Mark and will save us several hours of work. He also did work that we would not have been able to do by hand. (see photo). So, Mark, thank you!
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer the BBQ lunch, but we will have water, pop and snacks on hand.
Thank you,
Pierre
